The Black and Gold City Goes Green campaign promotes community actions in Pittsburgh's neighborhoods and among Pittsburgh's residences to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Actions can be found under Resources, and community leaders can contact the campaign to get involved in planning and networking events.
Events are hosted throughout the year, and are posted on the Black & Gold City Goes Green website.
Neighborhood Blitz!
In October 2010, the community outreach campaign launched its Neighborhood Blitz program in Bloomfield. Volunteers visited neighbors door-to-door to provide tools and information on saving energy and reducing waste at home. The project distributed 122 kits, and plans are underway for more Neighborhood Blitzes in 2011.
